It is with great pleasure that we mark the hosting of the Final Phase of the Men’s U22 European Volleyball Championship in Albufeira. This event brings prestige to our national sports scene and reinforces Portugal’s capacity to host competitions of excellence. Between June 29 and July 4, 2026, our country will welcome the most promising European national teams. This event, hosted by Albufeira in its capacity as the 2026 European City of Sport, is an opportunity to assert Portuguese volleyball on the international stage and a way to inspire new generations of athletes. Investing in the organization of competitions of this caliber demonstrates vision, competence, and a commitment to sporting development. I would, therefore, like to express my sincere gratitude to the Portuguese Volleyball Federation for their commitment and dedication, to the European Volleyball Confederation for the trust placed in Portugal, and to the Albufeira City Council for their fundamental support of this competition. I address a special word to all participants, wishing them the greatest success and recognizing the hard work, discipline, and the dream that brought them here. I must also thank the clubs, coaches, o icials, and families who contribute daily to the growth of volleyball and sports in general. Good luck. Este é um evento que prestigia o desporto nacional e reforça a capacidade de Portugal acolher competições de excelência. Entre 29 de junho e 4 de julho de 2026, o nosso país vai receber as mais promissoras seleções europeias. Este evento, que Albufeira acolhe enquanto Cidade Europeia do Desporto em 2026, é uma oportunidade para afirmar o voleibol português no panorama internacional e uma forma de inspirar novas gerações de atletas. A aposta na organização de provas deste nível demonstra visão, competência e compromisso com o desenvolvimento desportivo. Quero, por isso, expressar um sincero agradecimento à Federação Portuguesa de Voleibol pelo empenho e dedicação, à Confederação Europeia de Voleibol pela confiança depositada em Portugal, e à Câmara Municipal de Albufeira pelo apoio fundamental a esta competição. Dirijo uma palavra especial a todos os participantes, desejando-lhes o maior sucesso e reconhecendo o trabalho, a disciplina e o sonho que os trouxeram até aqui.
