It is a great honour for Albufeira City Council, for our municipality, and for the Algarve region to host the Final Stage of the Men’s Under-22 Volleyball Championship Albufeira 2026 at the city’s Sports Hall. From the very beginning, we have fully committed ourselves to supporting this major sporting event, which is being held in Portugal for the very first time, coinciding with the year in which Albufeira has been awarded the title of European City of Sport. We would like to thank the European Volleyball Confederation and the Portuguese Volleyball Federation for choosing Albufeira and for the confidence they have placed in us. This decision reflects the quality of our facilities for hosting international sporting events, the professionalism of our technical teams, the excellence of our accommodation and hospitality sector, our outstanding climate, breathtaking landscapes, and the warm welcome for which Albufeira has long been known. It is therefore with great pleasure that, from June 29 to July 4, we welcome some of the most promising athletes in the sport, representing the national teams of Italy, France, Poland, Portugal, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Israel, and Ukraine, in what is considered a landmark event for volleyball in Portugal. At a local level, Atlético Clube de Albufeira has a proven track record in regional and national competitions. With 285 registered athletes, the club is exclusively dedicated to the practice of volleyball. In the 2025/2026 season, which ends next August, they achieved excellent results, which brings us great satisfaction. By hosting major events such as this one, Albufeira Municipality aims to contribute to the growth of volleyball both nationally and locally, while inspiring younger generations to take up the sport and encouraging the development of more federated clubs within the municipality. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all national teams, referees, and technical sta , and wish every success to both the athletes and the organisers of this event. We are delighted to welcome you and hope you leave Albufeira with unforgettable memories. Rui Cristina Mayor of Albufeira É uma enorme honra para a Câmara Municipal de Albufeira, para o nosso concelho e para a região do Algarve, acolhermos, no Pavilhão Desportivo da cidade, a Fase Final do Campeonato de Voleibol Sub 22 Masculino Albufeira 2026, razão pela qual nos mobilizámos, desde o início, em torno deste importante evento desportivo que se realiza pela primeira vez em Portugal, coincidindo com o ano em que Albufeira é distinguida com o galardão Cidade Europeia do Desporto. Agradecemos à Confederação Europeia de Voleibol e à Federação Portuguesa de Voleibol a escolha de Albufeira e o manifesto voto de confiança. Significa que temos instalações com excelente qualidade para receber grandes eventos desportivos a nível internacional, técnicos capacitados para colaborar na organização do evento, excelentes unidades de alojamento e restauração para receber as equipas, pessoal técnico e acompanhantes, um ótimo clima, paisagens de rara beleza e a tradição de bem receber que nos distingue desde sempre. É por isso, com muito gosto que, de 29 de junho a 4 de julho iremos receber os atletas mais promissores da modalidade, os quais integram as seleções de Itália, França, Polónia, Portugal, Bulgária, República Checa, Israel e Ucrânia, numa competição considerada um marco histórico para a modalidade de Voleibol no nosso país. A nível local, o Atlético Clube de Albufeira conta com créditos firmados em competições regionais e nacionais. Com 285 atletas inscritos, o clube dedica-se exclusivamente à prática de voleibol. Na época de 2025/2026, que termina no próximo mês de agosto, obtiveram excelentes resultados, o que muito nos satisfaz. Ao acolher grandes eventos como este, o Município de Albufeira pretende contribuir para o desenvolvimento da modalidade no país e a nível local, bem como inspirar os nossos jovens para que no futuro o concelho tenha mais atletas a praticar Voleibol e mais clubes federados a competir nos campeonatos. Dou as boas-vindas a todas as seleções, árbitros e restante corpo técnico, desejando o maior sucesso aos atletas e aos organizadores do evento.
