AOEV: MEETING AT PORTO
DEFINED STRATEGIES


The first meeting of the Executive Commission of the Western Europe Volleyball Zonal Association, founded by eight countries – Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, The Netherlands, France and Switzerland – known as AOEV (Association de L'Ouest Européen de Volleyball), took place on October 22 at the Portuguese Volleyball Federation headquarters.

AOEV President, Mr. Agustín Martín Santos, and Vice-Presidents, Mr. Vicente Araújo and Mr. Hans Nieukerke, defined several aspects for the newly association functioning, like institutional (articles), administrative (image), financial (2014 budget) and competitive (competitions calendar).

Following this meeting, the Technical Commission will meet on November 14-15 at Switzerland, being the second Executive Commission meeting already scheduled for January of 2014 at Madrid, Spain.

Luis Muchaga, Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation Technical Director and Teodemiro de Carvalho, Portuguese Volleyball Federation General Secretary, also attended the meeting.

Created on September 26 of the current year, AOEV will focus on the strength and promotion of both volleyball and beach volleyball activities, with a special care to the youth levels.

CEV has six zonal associations: AOEV (Western Europe), BVA (Balkans), EEVZA (Eastern Europe), MEVZA (Central Europe), NEVZA (Northern Europe) and SCD (Small Countries Divison) of which, Andorra, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Greenland, Iceland, Rep. Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Malta, Monaco, Northern Ireland, San Marino, Scotland and Wales, are part of.
