NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
STARTS THIS WEEKEND

The National Championship Men’s I Division 2013/2014 season is set to start officially this Saturday (October 5) having already one match played: CS Marítimo* vs. AJ Fonte do Bastardo (0-3: 20-25, 15-25, 15-25).

SL Benfica, defending champions and 2013 Supercup winners, AJ Fonte do Bastardo, 2013 Cup of Portugal winners, will battle to retain their titles in a championship which is predicted to be one of the most balanced in the last years.

SL Benfica, reigning champions and defeated finalist in the previous three seasons, AJ Fonte do Bastardo (2010/2011) and SC Espinho* (18 championships and finalist in 2012/2013) will probably have a strong competition from Vitória SC* (2007/2008 champions) and Castelo da Maia GC* (4-time champions from 2000/01 to 2003/2004) [Champions table]

16h00 – CA Madalena* x Castelo da Maia GC*, @ Pav. Municipal Atlântico da Madalena
17h00 – SC Espinho* x Esmoriz GC*, @ Nave Desportiva de Espinho
18h00 – Vitória SC* x SC Caldas*, @ Pav. do Vitória SC

Clube K* and GC Vilacondense* play on November 27.
