CREATE «AOEV» ASSOCIATION

Portugal integrates the newly created Western Europe Zonal Volleyball Association, founded by eight countries, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, The Netherlands, France and Switzerland, known as AOEV - Association de L'Ouest Européenne de Volley-Ball.

AOEV will have as President Mr. Agustín Martín Santos and as Vice-Presidents Mr. Vicente Araújo and Hans Nieukerke, Spanish Royal Volleyball Federation, Portuguese Volleyball Federation and Duth Volleyball Federation, respective Presidents. It main goal is to strengthen and stimulate the organization of sporting activities in both volleyball and beach volleyball, with special attention to the youth.

The new Continental organization was formally introduced at the CEV meetings which preceded the semi finals of the 2013 European Championship held at Denmark.

So far, CEV had four zonal associations: BVA, EEVZA, MEVZA and NEVZA.
