2014 WC: PORTUGAL TO PLAY
BELGIUM TOMORROW
 

A Women National Team is to play Belgium tomorrow (17h30 local), in the second day of the 2014 World Championship European Qualification, being held at Kortrijk. [Schedule]

Today, playing agaisnt Switzerland, the team coached by Fernando Luís and Filipe Lacerda won the opening set but failed to sustain the Swiss reaction, being thus downed by 3-1 (27-29, 25-19, 25-23, 25-22).

Núria Lopes (photo) with 18 points and Joana Polido with 17 were the match’s top scorers.

The pool winners qualify for the 3rd Round, to be played on January 2014, while the 2nd ranked teams will play the 2nd Round, scheduled for October 2-6, 2013.
