TO HOST U-19 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Following the success resulted of the events organization in Portugal, three editions of the U-23 European Championship in 2001 (Esposende), 2008 (Espinho) and 2011 (Porto), a U-18 European Championship and a U-19 World Championship in 2010, the Portuguese Volleyball Federation will host again the U-19 World Championship, to be held on July 11-14 July at location yet to be announced.

Also this year, the Academic Federation of Porto will organise the, 9th Beach Volleyball European Universities Championship, which will take place in the summer as well as the World University Championship in 2014.

With the U-19 World Championships organisation, this will be the sixth time in the space of just four years that our country will host Beach Volleyball competitions at the international level, following the U-18 European Championship and the U-19 World Championship, both in 2010, and the U-23 European Championship, in 2011.

This FPV’s bet helps for rooting and developing Beach Volleyball among the youngsters, which constitutes a major boost for the remarkable work that has been done in recent years by the BV Training Centers for High Performance.
