CD RIBEIRENSE AND LEIXÕES SC
PLAY FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

The 2013 I Division National Championship – Women Playoff will start on the upcoming April 21 at Pico, Azores, when the defending champions CD Ribeirense host Leixões SC.

The Azorean side was already qualified for the Final, but ended the regular stage with a double victory over Castelo da Maia GC by 3-2 in both matches (3-2: 25-17, 25-17, 20-25, 23-25, 15-7 / 3-2: 21-25, 25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 15-11).

As for Leixões, the team of Matosinhos which had a four-point advantage over GDC Gueifães at the start of the last double round, lose both matches (2-3: 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 23-25, 5-15 / 2-3: 16-25, 25-9, 25-22, 25-27, 13-15)), at home, but secured the necessary points to advance to the decisive Playoff [Results]

The first Championship Playoff match is scheduled to April 21, while the second is due for April 28 (Matosinhos). If necessary, the third and final match will be played again at Azores on May 5. [See Regulation]

Last season ended with CD Ribeirense victory over GDC Gueifães: 0-3 (25/20, 25/18 e 25/9), 3-1 (15/25, 25/17, 26/24 e 25/22) and 3-2 (19/25, 25/19, 17/25, 25/9 e 15/12).
