SL BENFICA AND SC ESPINHO
TO PLAY FOR THE NATIONAL TITLE

Next Saturday, SL Benfica and SC Espinho, 1st and 2nd Winners Stage ranked respectively, will begin the 2013 I Division - Men Title Playoff.

The first Championship Playoff match is schedule to April 20 (Lisbon), while the second match is due to April 27 (Espinho). If necessary, the third and final match will be played on May 4 at Lisbon. (See Regulation)

The 2013 Championship Playoff replays last year’s, as Benfica and Espinho meet again for the title.
In 2012 José Jardim’s team won the first match at home by 3-1 (25/21, 25/18, 22/25, 25/18) while Espinho beat Benfica in the second match by the same result (3-1: 19/25, 25/22, 25/23, 26/24).

The “Tigers” achieved their 18th National Championship by downing Benfica (3-2 (25/23, 32/30, 12/25, 19/25, 15/13) in the third and decisive Championship Playoff match played at Lisbon.
