PORTUGUESE AROUND EUROPE
 

Two European clubs, on which play Portuguese athletes, deserve to be highlighted: Tours VB claimed the Cup of France for the 7th time, while Aich/Dob guaranteed its presence on the Austrian Playoffs Final.

Nuno Pinheiro’s Tours VB won the Cup of France for the 7th time, by beating Toulouse 3-1 (29-27, 25-22, 20-25 e 25-22). The victories occurred in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013.
On its turn, André Lopes’ Chaumont VB 52, current 4th ranked in Pro A, visits next weekend Narbonne (5th).
Also in France, Carlos Teixeira’s Stade Poitevin Volley Beach, which stands 4th in Nationale 1 Playoffs, visits PUC Volley-Ball (6th) on April 6.

In Austria, Valdir Sequeira’s SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob qualified for the AVL Playoff Final, by beating on the semi-final VC Amstetten Hypo NO (3-1: 25-15, 21-25, 25-18 e 25-19) away, and by 3-1 (26-24, 25-23, 25-27 e 25-21) at home.
The Portuguese opposite recorded 15 points in both matches. The first match against the defending champions Hypo Tirol VB is scheduled to April 10.

Núria Silva and Bonémia Gomes’ UCAM Vóley Murcia has to win the next match against Nuchar Tramek Murillo, set to April 5, after being downed in the two previous Superliga Espanhola semi-final encounters.
The first match ended at (2-3: 25-23, 17-25, 28-30, 25-21 e 8-15) while in the second match Nuchar won by 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-21 e 25-19).

Tiago Violas’ Jastrzebski Wegiel SA lost once again to Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle by 2-3 (25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 19-25 e 6-15) and by 1-3 (19-25, 25-21, 20-25 e 13-25) and therefore was eliminated from the Playoffs.
The Portuguese setter team will now play for the 3rd rank on PlusLiga with Delecta Bydgoszcz.

In Switzerland, Rui Santos’ Chênois Volleyball Club cruised past Lausanne (3-0: 25-20, 25-23, 25-20) and was ranked 4th in the Swiss League Playoffs.
Rui Santos’ team will now face the 3rd ranked TV Schonenwerd.

In Germany, João José’s VFB Friedrichshafen will meet Generali Haching at the Bundesliga 1 Semi-Finals, being the first match scheduled to April 3.
On its turn, Marcel Gil’s RWE Volleys Bottrop, which continues to stand alone at the top of Bundesliga 2 North, will visit Rumelner TV (5th) on April 7.

Norwegian Stod Volley Steinkjer, coached by André Sá, which granted the 2nd rank and is still in the hunt for the Elite Division leadership, will host in the two upcoming rounds (April 6-7), Koll (6th) and Oslo Volley, current competition leader.
