some difficulties from GDC Gueifães, which was runner up for three times
and the will to win the Cup was huge.
We knew this was a match where the emotional component would be of
extreme importance; therefore we worked this aspect with our players as
well, what, luckily turned to our favor.
We didn’t perform as well as we should but we’re able to win, and
therefore we need to congratulate all working group”.
Nuno Costa, GDC Gueifães Head Coach stated: “We believe that it’s
always possible to win, that’s our motto.
We started well, putting some pressure on our opponent. The second set
was very balanced, but at the end the set was sealed by Ribeirense, what
was decisive for the remainder of the match.
We started slowly in the third and the Ribeirense player’s experience
was crucial in the fourth.
Despite the result, I’m pleased hence the team showed that we’re in a
good way, and now we need to focus in the remainder of the championship.
I would like to continue leading this working group”.
