2014 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP:
WOMEN PLAY AT KORTRIJK
 


Portugal National Team – Women will face Belgium, Switzerland and Northern Ireland at the Belgium city of Kortrijk, where the 2014 World Championship European Qualification 1st Round – Pool C is to take place, from May 23-26, 2013.

The Pool C, organised by Belgium will be supervised by Pierre Mulheims (Luxemburg), CEV Technical Delegate, while Marc Bloemhard (The Netherlands), Ute Fisher (Germany), Marcos Folgar Fraga (Spain), Nick Heckford (Engalnd) and Lars Rydland (Norway) will be the appointed referees.

Vitor Gonçalves (Portugal) will also be at Kortrijk as referee for the men’s event – Pool D (Belgium, Austria, Romania and Northern Ireland), which will take place simultaneous in this city.

The European Qualification 1st Round Pools are organised as follows:
Pool A (Herceg Novi, MON) – Croatia, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia
Pool B (Mogilev, BLR) – Israel, Belarus, Finland and Denmark
Pool C (Kortrijk, BEL) – Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland and Northern Ireland
Pool D (Lutsk, UKR)– Ukraine, Hungary, Albania and Moldova
Pool E (Poprad, SVK) – Slovakia, Greece, Austria and Liechtenstein
Pool F (Daugavpils, LAT) – Estonia, Iceland, Latvia and Lithuania
Pool G (Cospicua,MLT) – Luxemburg, Cyprus, S. Marino, Malta and Scotland

The pool winners qualify for the 3rd Round, to be played in January 2014, while the 2nd ranked teams will play the 2nd Round, scheduled for October 2-6, 2013.

Men’s National Team will play the 3rd Round (January 3-5, 2014).

The 2014 World Championship Finals will be held at Italy (Women) and Poland (Men).

2013 Junior World Championship

The Junior National Team will be in action also in May, playing the 2013 Junior WC European Qualification.

The U-21 Men are to play the Pool B, along with Belgium, Poland, France and Latvia, which will take place at the French city of Saint-Jean D'Illac starting May 7-12 May 2013.

The European Qualification Pools are defined as follows:
Pool A (Anapa, RUS) – Russia, Greece, Denmark, Montenegro and Austria
Pool B (St. Jean D'Illac, FRA) – Belgium, Poland, France, Portugal and Latvia
Pool C (Sofia, BUL) – Bulgaria, Germany, Estonia, Romania and Israel
Pool D (Ivanjica, SRB) – Serbia, Spain, Slovakia, Finland, Czech Republic and Croatia

The pool winners will join the 2013 U-21 WC host (Turkey) and the 2012 European Champion (Italy) at Ancara and Izmir where the Final Round of the competition will be held, from August 22 – September 1 2013.

The U-20 Women will battle Serbia, Belgium, France and Denmark, in the Pool A, taking place at Subotica (Serbia), from May 7-12 2013.

Raquel Portela (Portugal) will be at Friuli (Italy) as referee for the women’s event – Pool B.

The European Qualification Pools are defined as follows:
Pool A (Subotica, SRB) – Serbia, Belgium, France, Portugal and Denmark
Pool B (Friuli, ITA) – Italy, Slovakia, Finland and Spain
Pool C (Samokov, BUL) – Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece and Latvia
Pool D (Ramenskoe, RUS) – Russia, Poland, Romania and Slovenia

The pool winners will join the 2013 U-20 WC host (Czech Republic) and the 2012 European Champion (Turkey) at Brno and Prostejov where the Final Round of the competition will be held, from June 21 –30 2013.
