PORTUGUESE AROUND EUROPE
 

Stod Volley Steinkjer, coached by André Sá, qualified for the Cup of Norway - Women Final, after cruising past OKSIL (3-0: 25-19, 25-22 e 25-13) in the cup semi-finals. Now, Stod Volley will face Oslo Volley, undefeated leader of Women’s Elite Division, in the Cup Final, scheduled for January 19 of 2013.
However, these two teams will play each other on December 8, for the championship. On December 6, Stod will travel to Bosnia & Herzegovina to play Jedinstvo Brcko, for the CEV Challenge Cup – Women – Round of 32 – 1st leg.

On the contrary, João José’s VFB Friedrichshafen was eliminated from the Cup of Germany, having lost to Evivo Duren (0-3: 23-25, 28-30 e 22-25), despite the 12 points recorded by the Portuguese middle blocker. Curious fact, Friedrichshafen hosted Duren two days later for Bundesliga 1, having won this match in straight sets (3-0: 25-17, 25-20 e 25-18).
With this victory, VFB Friedrichshafen maintained its 3rd place in the standings. The next matches of the German team are scheduled for December 5, against Zenit Kazan, for the CEV Champions League Pool A, and for December 8, against Moerser SC, for Bundesliga 1.

Marcel Gil’s RWE Volleys Bottrop kept its leadership of Bundesliga 2 North, after beating Rumelner TV (3-0: 25-18, 25-19 e 25-17).
On the round (December 8) RWE will visit DJK Delbruck (9th).

In France, Nuno Pinheiro’s Tours VB beat Narbonne (3-1: 23-25, 25-15, 25-23 e 25-23) thus continuing to lead League Pro A. The Portuguese setter recorded 2 points in the block.
The next matches of the Portuguese player team are scheduled for December 5, against Trentino Diatec, for the CEV Champions League Pool C, and for December 8, against Toulouse (12th), for the French championship.

On its turn, André Lopes’ Chaumont Volley-Ball 52 Haute Marne beat Tourcoing (3-1: 23-25, 25-16, 31-29 e 25-14), climbing to the 7th place of the championship. The Portuguese hitter collected 11 points in 7 attacks and 4 serves.
On the next round, scheduled for December 8, André Lopes will visit AS Cannes (5th).

Carlos Teixeira’s Stade Poitevin Volley Beach was stunned at home by Saint-Louis Neuweg Omnisports (0-3: 19-25, 16-25 e 15-25), thus losing the leadership to its opponent, while Renata Guerreiro’s Asul Lyon Volley continues cruising in their division, with their 8th consecutive victory, this time over AFVO (3-1: 26-24, 25-13, 21-25 e 25-11).

In Italy, Flavio Gulinelli and the Ferreira brothers’ BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte kept the 11th place of Serie A1, after a sensational victory over 3rd-placed Andreoli Latina (3-2: 26-24, 25-23, 22-25, 20-25 e 15-8). Alex Ferreira gathered 6 points (4 attacks, 2 blocks).
On the next round scheduled for December 9, Castellana plays at CMC Ravenna (12th) turf.

In Poland, Tiago Violas’ Jastrzebski Wegiel SA beat Effector Kielce (3-2: 22-25, 25-18, 25-19, 24-26 e 15-13) and climbed to the 5th place of Plus Liga.
On the next round, scheduled for December 8, Wegiel will host AZS Politechnika Narszawska (6th).

In Switzerland, Rui Santos’ Chênois Volleyball Club overcame TV Schonenwerd I (3-2: 27-29, 31-29, 21-25, 25-22 e 15-10), and kept the 6th place in the standings.
On the next round, sheduled for December 8, the Portuguese middle blocker team will host VBC Lutry-Lavaux I (8th).

In Spain, Núria Lopes da Silva and Bonémia Gomes’ UCAM Voley Murcia, currently standing in 6th of Superleague – Women, will visit Nuchar Tramek Murillo (2nd) on December 8.
