CUP OF PORTUGAL: WOMEN’S
I ROUND TO BE PLAYED TOMORROW

The Cup of Portugal I Round – Women, will be played tomorrow with the following fixtures: GD Cascais x AA S. Mamede, AA Coimbra x GC Santo Tirso, Juventude Pacense x SC Braga, Vitória SC x SC Espinho, AD Marista x Leixões SC, Castelo da Maia GC x Lusófona VC and CV Lisboa x CD Póvoa. GDC Gueifães, Esc. Pedro Eanes Lobato, Boavista FC, Atlético VC and CF Belenenses/Blue were exempt for this round and therefore are already qualified for the II Round. The teams from Madeira and Azores will enter in the quarter finals after undergo a regional qualification stage.

The highlight is on the I Division leaders, Leixões SC, who will visit AD Maristas (II D) and mainly on the clash between Castelo da Maia GC and Lusófona VC, 4th and 5th place respectively in the I Division standings.
The II Round will be played by the 12 winning teams (including the exempt ones), and it’s scheduled for January 12 of 2013.
The II Round draw is scheduled for December 7 at 18:45 GMT.

The Cup of Portugal II Round – Men, also played by the 12 winning teams (Vitória SC, AA S. Mamede, CA Madalena, GC Vilacondense, SL Benfica, SC Caldas, Castelo da Maia GC, CV Espinho e AA Coimbra) plus the three exempt teams of the I Round (Esmoriz GC, CV Oeiras e SO Marinhense), is scheduled for December 29. The matchups are to be drawn on December 7 at 18:30 GMT.

Also note that during this weekend the National Championship I Division is played.
There are 9 National Championship – Men matches scheduled for the next weekend, amongst which are highlighted the matches of Castelo da Maia GC, a moralized team standing in the 4th place in the table (11gp/25pts) and which recently qualified for the second round of the Cup of Portugal after beating defending champions SC Espinho (3-2).
This Saturday, the boys from Maia play in Esmoriz against the “highlighted” team of this season, Esmoriz GC (5th/11gp/19pts) followed by their visit to SL Benfica, undefeated leader (10gp/30pts) [Standings]
The focus will be turned also to the matches between GC Vilacondense (6th/11gp/16pts) and Vitória SC (8th/10gp/12pts), and in Azores the game between Clube K (11th/11gp/6pts) and SC Caldas (9th/11gp/10pts) on Saturday.
The matches between AJF Bastardo and Clube K versus Leixões SC will be postponed according to information obtained from the airline company and travel agency responsable for the travels of Leixões to Azores.
The round will be complete with the folowing fixtures: SL Benfica x AA Espinho (7th/11gp/15pts) and CS Marítimo (10th/11gp/6pts) x SC Espinho (3rd/11gp/26pts). On Sunday, AJF Bastardo x SC Caldas completes the matchday. [Schedule]

The highlighted matches of the National Championship – Women are GDC Gueifães (3rd/8gp/18pts) x Lusófona VC (5th/8gp/12pts) and the reception of SC Braga (6th/8gp/10pts) to CF Belenenses/Blue (7th/8gp/9pts), both scheduled to Sunday.
The match between GC Santo Tirso (8th/8gp/6pts) x Castelo da Maia GC (4th/8gp/16pts) is equally scheduled for Sunday.
Concerning “The duel from the islands” between CD Ribeirense (2nd/8gp/21pts) and CSD Câmara de Lobos (9th/7gp/4pts) scheduled for Saturday, Câmara de Lobos has already informed that it will not play in Azores, while the match between Leixões SC (1st/8gp/16pts) and CS Madeira (10th/9gp/2pts) anticipated for November 11, ended with the victory of the leaders in straight sets [Schedule & Standings].
