GIRA-VOLEI: AMARES TRAINING COURSE
WITH HIGH ATTENDANCE

A Gira-Volei’s training course held by the Portuguese Volleyball Federation in collaboration with Amares School Grouping, Amares City Hall and the Phsysical Education Porfessionals Association of Braga, late Saturday, had a great attendance (over 60 participants).

This initiative, coordinated by Leonel Salgueiro and Carlos Prata, revelead itself “very productive” according to these FPV members, hence “approached the organization, the educational and didactic aspects in the formation of young volleyball players” within the FPV Development program, “in a structured way”.

These courses are especially addressed to Gira-Volei guides, Physical Education teachers, and students, lectured by Leonel Salgueiro, National Gira-Volei Coordinator and Carlos Prata, Head of Development. The training course contains a theoretical part – project presentation and methods to apply to Gira-Volei, which gathers kids from 8 to 15 years old – and a practical part with several demonstrations and exercises of this easy, fun and competitive game. Created in 1998, it develops now through over 1800 centers nationwide and moves more than 100.000 young athletes.
