PRESIDENT ARY GRAÇA MEETS WITH IOC PRESIDENT
 

Ary Graça was personally congratulated on his election as the new FIVB President by IOC President Dr Jacques Rogge during an inaugural meeting between the two at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Ary Graça was accompanied to the IOC by FIVB Honorary Life President Jizhong Wei, FIVB 1st Executive Vice President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, Executive Vice President and Treasurer Amr M. Elwani, Board of Administration member Vicente Araujo and FIVB General Director Carlos Luiz Martins.

Jacques Rogge welcomed the FIVB delegation before Ary Graça met the IOC President discussing the future of the FIVB and the democratic change which has occurred at the FIVB over the past four years which Jacques Rogge acknowledged has helped significantly modify the relationship between the IOC and the FIVB.

Jacques Rogge also praised the FIVB on the transparent election process during the FIVB World Congress, held in Anaheim, USA on September 21 which he said could be a model.

Ary Graça of Brazil is the fourth President in the history of the FIVB following Paul Libaud (France) 1947-1984, Dr Ruben Acosta (Mexico) 1984-2008 and Jizhong Wei (China) 2008-2012.
