POITIERS VICE-CHAMPION
 

The Stade Poitevin Volley-Ball Pro of André Lopes, Carlos Teixeira and Nuno Pinheiro failed to retain the title of national champion and had to settle for second place in the French Pro A League, after losing by 0-3 (20/25, 19/25 and 22/25), in the final at Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Paris against Tours.

Also in France, but the B League, the Ason Volley-Ball Orange Nassau of Marco Ferreira lost by 1-3 (23/25, 20/25, 26/24, and 22/25) against the Saint-Brieuc in the final round of the regular phase, and was ranked in the ninth place. The Portuguese scored two points.

In Spain, Murcia UCAM volleyball of Núria de Silva lost against Valeriano Allés Menorca Volei the first two matches of the play-off semi-final: 1st match 0-3 by (29/31, 19/25 and 17/25) and the 2nd match by 0-3 (15/25, 21/25 and 18/25). Nuria Silva scored six points (5 attacks and 1 block) and two points (one attack and one block).

The Jastrzebski Wegiel SA of Tiago Violas, also made two matches in the play-off to find the 3rd and 4th positions. They won the first by 3-0 (25/23 25/22 and 25/15) and lost the second by 0-3 (20/25 19/25 and 22/25) against ZAK SA Kedzierzyn-Kozle. Now they have to decide in a 5th match.
